News 2023.04 - Flexity Classic Adelaide

The Aussie is back!

The Adelaide Tramway had a very extensive tram network in the past, of which a 15-kilometre line is still operated today from the inner city of the Australian city of Adelaide to the coastal suburb of Glenelg, called the Glenelg Tram after its destination. It runs every 15 minutes and is part of the Adelaide Metro public transport system.

Until 2006, all Adelaide tram services were provided by historic 1929 Class H trams. From 2005, the first members of the new fleet of modern Flexity Classic trams arrived in Australia and entered scheduled service in January 2006. Eleven 30-metre long low-floor articulated railcars built by Bombardier Transportation in Germany have replaced the H cars in daily service.
