A piece of contemporary history - The BVB's Reko coaches!

We are very pleased that the Reko models are so well received and are now adding another Reko train to the range, this time from the BVB fleet. The new models show the Reko coaches towards the end of the 80s to the beginning of the 90s, when they were running towards the "Wind of Change"!

BVB (VEB Kombinat Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe) was a separate BVG administration in East Berlin, founded in 1949 due to the division of Berlin and only merged again in 1992 as a result of reunification. Until then, BVG (West) and BVB (East) were valid. 

The bi-directional vehicles were used from 1969 onwards to avoid the time-consuming shunting at the terminal stops without turning loops at the waterworks and in Altglienicke. The models of the single-direction vehicles are almost ready and will be presented soon. If you can't wait, you can order them now!

With the BVB's unidirectional Reko wagons, the first orange Reko wagons, we are now concluding the current production series. As a small surprise at the end, we are proud to present the very first model of a Reko with an advertising banner on its side.

    NEW! Models of the BVG's bi-directional reko cars Many thanks for the lively response, the BVG's furnishing recos are selling quickly. Now the next new Reko train will follow to complete the BVG fleet. Since the final stops at Wasserwerk and Altglienicke had to be relocated due to the lack of a reversing loop, bi-directional Reko cars were built in 1969.

As promised and just in time, it is our pleasure to present the first models of the new edition of Berlin's orange reconditioned cars before the end of 2022. To begin with, we are proud to present an absolute premiere. The models of the BVG's interior vehicles have never existed before.

    News 2022.04 - The Reko Trams Berlin

    The last of their kind! Rekowagen is a term coined in the GDR for two-axle tram vehicles that were rebuilt, which means reconstructed, in the Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk Berlin-Schöneweide. They were delivered in various designs from 1959 to 1975 to the Berlin transport companies in the eastern part of Berlin (BVG-Ost) and to other transport companies in the GDR.
