News 2026.01 - DT8.12 and DT8.15 Der SSB Stuttgart
The first models for Stuttgart are available!
Many of you have already been following the models in the ‘In Production’ section of our web shop, quite a few have pre-ordered the models, and we are currently receiving regular enquiries about when the models will finally be available. Now the time has come. The first two models of the new edition Stuttgart DT8 are going on sale.

The DT8.15 with the car number 3581/3582 is only available in small quantities. The majority of the exclusive models have already been delivered to the numerous pre-order customers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your enthusiastic response!
In the coming weeks, we will use a small gap in the printing schedule between two models to produce another edition with a new vehicle number. If we are unable to deliver your order immediately, we ask for your patience.
The DT8.12 with the vehicle number 3537/3538 is currently on the road with a cheerful foil wrap. The so-called ‘eco-mobile’ reminds us that the issues of the environment and ecology are of great importance to SSB as the transport company of the state capital Stuttgart. The synthetic fuel used in the buses significantly reduces nitrogen oxide emissions and soot pollution. All SSB trams run on green electricity.
All models in the new 2026 edition are equipped with a superb new drive system. True to the original, the bogies house two quiet, small bell-type armature motors, which give the model great traction and smooth running. The space freed up in the chassis has been filled with weights, shifting the center of gravity far downwards and further improving the running characteristics. The new NEM651 interface facilitates digitization.
The models have also been revamped externally compared to the last edition. As with the now sold-out S-Bahn Berlin models, different printing processes were combined to achieve the best effect. Another new feature is the design of the steps on the vehicles. Whereas in the last edition they were simply printed on, this time they have been recessed and given a dark background. This creates a 3D effect and makes the models in the new edition much more realistic.
The models of the DT8.14 3539/3550, i.e. the magnificent ‘Retrotram’ advertising version, which invites visitors to take a ‘journey through time’ in the tram museum in the original white and yellow colors of the old Stuttgart tram, are unfortunately not yet available. We expect to be able to deliver the popular models in a few weeks. Pre-orders are welcome, and we thank you in advance for your patience.
